Napoli– Moments of fear this afternoon in Naples, where a violent explosion occurred in one of the rooms that house the kitchens of the famous restaurant “'A Figlia d''o Marenaro”, in the heart of the city.

The explosion occurred in via Peppino De Filippo, a few steps from via Foria, a very busy and trafficked area.
According to initial reports, a woman was seriously injured in the accident. Her condition immediately appeared critical and it was necessary to transfer her to the hospital. At the moment, the possibility of other people being involved has not been ruled out.
I immediately intervened on site firefighters, together with the Carabinieri and the police, engaged in safety operations and in verifying the stability of the building hit. The explosion in fact caused evident damage to the facade of the building and also affected an adjacent commercial establishment.

Ambulances and police were also present, and they ordered the traffic closure of the nearby Via Foria, which was completely paralyzed to allow rescuers to intervene.
